The little boy stopped an old man on the street and said, "Hey, Mister! How do I get to Carnegie Hall?" The old man replied, "Practice, son. Practice."

I've been thinking about this page of my site for some time. What are the best practice tips I can give? The best rudiments to practice? The best methods by which a drummer can quickly and effeciently hone his or her craft? A building is only as good as its foundation.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I don't have all the answers. So, in the spirit of interactive cyberspace, I would like to turn to you - drummer, visitor, colleague - and ask YOU: What are YOUR favorite practice tips and exercises? Would you share them with us?

It's simple. Follow Submit Practice Tip and fill out the form. I will take your tip and include it on the New Practice Tips page, which you can also access below. Older practice tips can be found on the Practice Tips Archive.

Thank you for participating! I'm looking forward to sharing your insight with our fellow drummers!
